Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 18, 2026
1. Introduction
Jamie Selects, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates Bitcoin Podcast Summarizer at btcpods.xyz (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you register, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password through Supabase Auth. We never store your password in plain text.
Subscription Preferences
We store which podcasts you have chosen to follow so we can send you the relevant summaries.
Email Delivery Records
When we deliver an email digest, we log your email address, the summary delivered, the timestamp, and the delivery status (sent, bounced, or failed). This information is used to diagnose delivery issues and prevent duplicate sends.
Usage Analytics
We use PostHog to record anonymized usage events such as podcast subscriptions, unsubscriptions, and email delivery rates. PostHog also records estimated AI processing costs for our internal operational use. We do not use analytics data to build advertising profiles.
Payment Records (Optional)
If you choose to make a Bitcoin payment (for example, to unlock Pod Maxi), we record the Lightning invoice ID, the satoshi amount, the payment status, and the timestamp. Payments may be made anonymously — you are not required to be signed in to pay. We do not collect or store your Bitcoin wallet address.
Technical Data
Our hosting provider, Vercel, may collect standard web server logs — including IP addresses and browser user agents — as part of normal hosting operations.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver AI-generated podcast summaries to your email inbox
- Manage your podcast subscription preferences
- Confirm and record optional Bitcoin payments
- Diagnose and resolve email delivery failures
- Monitor AI processing costs (internal use only)
We do not sell your personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third-party services as necessary to operate the Service:
Supabase — Database and authentication. Stores your email address, hashed password, subscription preferences, and delivery logs. (supabase.com/privacy)
Resend — Transactional email delivery. Receives your email address and summary content to deliver your digest. (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy)
OpenAI (Whisper) — Podcast audio transcription. Receives audio files sourced from public RSS feeds. No personal data is shared. (openai.com/policies/privacy-policy)
Anthropic (Claude Haiku) — AI summarization. Receives podcast transcripts for processing. No personal data is shared. (anthropic.com/privacy)
Strike — Bitcoin payment processing. Generates Lightning invoices when you choose to pay. We do not share or store your payment credentials. (strike.me/legal/privacy)
PostHog — Product analytics. Receives anonymized usage events and cost metrics. (posthog.com/privacy)
Vercel — Application hosting. Processes standard web server requests. (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy)
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review those policies.
5. Email Communications
By creating an account and subscribing to podcasts, you consent to receive email digests containing AI-generated summaries for those podcasts. You can unsubscribe from individual podcasts at any time through your account settings, or delete your account to stop all email communications.
We do not send marketing or promotional emails unrelated to your chosen podcast subscriptions.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information — including your email address, subscription preferences, and delivery logs — within 30 days.
Payment records may be retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes even after account deletion.
Podcast episodes and AI-generated summaries are part of the public archive, contain no personal information, and are retained indefinitely.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
- Receive a portable copy of your data
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address listed below.
If you are a California resident, you may also have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know, delete, correct, and access portable copies of personal information, as well as the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security practices, including Row Level Security (RLS) in our database to ensure each user can only access their own data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. API keys and secrets are stored as server-side environment variables and are never exposed to the client.
No method of data transmission over the internet is completely secure. We take reasonable precautions to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
